1st FAI World Cup of Vertical Formation Skydiving

Updated: 01.05.08

It's official, with the FAI / IPC releasing the 2008 rules & dive pool (see the menu to the left), the First FAI World Cup of VFS (VRW) will be held directly after the USPA Nationals at Skydive Arizona. Rumor has it that many international teams are looking at competing in the US Nationals as a guest teams in order to warm up for the World Cup. As an incentive to make the World Cup a successful meet, Skydive Arizona owner Larry Hill is giving 1 free hour of tunnel time to every Nation that shows up and participates in the World Cup. Not a bad deal at all!

IPC Considering VFS 4-way as World-Level Event

Updated: 16.01.08

The 59th IPC Meeting in Paris, France, is this next week, 22 - 27 January, 2008. During this meeting the new IPC VFS 4-Way rules draft will be reviewed by the Formation Skydiving committee. This draft was written by Eric Deren, former member of Team Mandrin, who is working closely with the IPC FS Committee Chair, Fiona McEachern. The discussion will certainly involve the question of international participation, and whether the three open teams that participated at the 2007 US nationals constitutes an anomaly or a sign of things to come. Show up and attend FS meeting if you can and give your insight!
